Aside from the sad lack of a soundtrack, the story between the manga and anime of Ya Boy Kongming is pretty similar. The biggest thing you missed out on is that the anime didn’t adapt a large chunk of the bonus omake chapters, which are some of the best comedy in the series.

Will There Be A Ya Boy Kongming Season 2?
While there has been no official announcement of a Ya Boy Kongming Season 2, it was announced that a compilation film, Ya Boy Kongming: Road to Summer Sonia, would be released on March 1st, 2024. It will condense down the 12-episode anime to movie format.
While not a sequel, that is a good sign that the series may eventually get one. They don’t make compilation films for dead series.
