While Whisper Me a Love Song had production delays and varying animation quality, the anime did also start skipping content. You may wish to go read Chapter 30 through Chapter 33 that was mostly skipped over in the anime.
Outside of that, the anime was pretty good about adapting the story, animation quality issues not withstanding. It just clearly seemed like it wanted to reach the end of the Aki/Shiho drama as the end of Season 1 so it started rushing in the second half. This mean it started cutting out a lot of things that didn’t serve like, like many Kaori and Mari moments.
While a great deal of what was cut was cute fluff, the anime did start to cut more important things out near the end of the season, so you definitely may want to consider reading the Whisper Me A Love Song manga from the beginning for the best experience. The art is really phenomenal, and it is a shame the anime didn’t show that off better.
