I thought, judging this series by the title alone before watching it, that this would be about taming unwanted monster types, but no. It really was just traveling and often picking through trash piles. However, it did this a nice and surprisingly endearing way.
While not an action-packed isekai, it does provide a laid-back adventure that is hard to hate.

What to Expect From The Weakest Tamer Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The Weakest Tamer anime greatly changed the order that some events happen from the light novels, but actually kept the core content and plot points from the story intact. As such,you would really only notice anything too different if you did read the novels or manga from the beginning.
The changes made and the smaller things left out would not prevent you from being able to pick up the series at where the anime left off. However, as with any light novel anime adaptation, you do get way more details and world-building in the novels if you were to read them from the beginning.
