While not Link Clink-levels of beloved, the international community has taken to Versatile Mage for their preferred dose of Chinese cultivation escapism.
Also known as Quanzhi Fashi of Full-Time Magister, this series weaves a surprisingly intricate web for an action anime as it introduced a huge cast of characters and only makes about a handful actually important. Unfortunately, as an “intricate web” and also a donghua, this means that getting into the source material for Versatile Mage after the anime is difficult at best.

Where To Start The Versatile Mage Web Novel After The Anime?
If you finished through season six of the Versatile Mage anime, you can start the web novel after season 6 at Chapter 530. Season 6 had just started adapting the first part of The Ancient Capital of the Dead arc.
Is The Versatile Mage Web Novel Over?
The Versatile Mage web novel is complete. It ended with Chapter 3233.
While Mo Fan’s story is done, the author apparently continued writing side stories for characters in the Versatile Mage world, but finding them outside of the Chinese internet will be difficult, if possible.
Where To Start The Versatile Mage Manhua After The Anime?
Versatile Mage also has a manhua. If you finished through season 6 of the Versatile Mage anime and want to read the manhua instead, you can start at Chapter 356.
The anime adapts most of that chapter, but since it ends at a literal cliffhanger, the manhua chapter actually does show you what happens at the end.
Is The Versatile Mage Manhua Over?
The Versatile Mage manga is still ongoing and has not yet even gotten close to adapting the whole web novel. It is presently in the early Chapter 2300’s of the web novel as of 2024, but that was after skipping several arcs.
What to Expect From The Versatile Mage Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The thing that you need to know when getting into Versatile Mage is that it makes small tweaks between each series, adapts things at a different pace between each series, but is keeping the overall story the same.
A number of fans find the manhua in particular difficult to get into after the anime or light novel due to how super fast it moves and how many small details it skips.
If you enjoy the lore, I do recommend reading the web novel from the beginnings since it does include the most details about the story, world, and power system. However, while it will take the occasional inference or even google search for clarification, you can technically jump into the web novel or manhua after the anime and continue the story without too much trouble.
It is recommended to go read Chapters 430 through 455 of the web novel or Chapters 298 through 312 of the manhua for the Vampires of Hangzhou arc that was skipped between the fifth and sixth seasons of the anime.
Will There Be A Versatile Mage Season 7?
There has been no official announcement of a Versatile Mage Season 7 anime.
They’ve done 6 seasons already, it seems likely another will come. The anime took a year break between season 3 & 4 as well as season 5 & 6. So it may very well be 2025 before you see it again.
