Tsurune is a great adaptation of the light novel. Kyoto Animation sometimes likes to greatly change their anime stories from the light novel sources, but that wasn’t the case in Tsurune.
That said, the Tsurune anime does leave quite a bit out. The light novels go far deeper into the character relationships between all the characters, and some of those relationships are merely glossed over in the anime for the sake of time.
Do you like Tsurune, particularly the relationships between everyone? Read the novels from the beginning because there is far more content there to enjoy. Outside of that, you are fully fine to just jump into the light novel story after where Season 2 ended as well.
