At the Trigun anime ending, you can be pretty happy with the conclusion, but there is more to the story to explore. Unfortunately, the Trigun manga has its fair share of problems and jumping in from the anime can be tricky.
Where To Start The Trigun Manga After The Anime?
The first bit of knowledge you need to know when switching from the Trigun anime to the manga is that there are two Trigun manga series, Trigun and Trigun Maximum.
If you finished the Trigun anime, you need not read the original Trigun manga at all. You get the benefit of being able to jump into Trigun Maximum right away.
To pick up the Trigun manga after the anime, you will want to start at Chapter 6 of Trigun Maximum. You will also want to know that some details from the original manga are vastly different in the anime.
If you do not wish to start at the beginning to get the full canon story, someone listed the differences between the Trigun anime and Trigun manga.
If you watched Badlands Rumble, that takes place at a difficult-to-determine time during the anime series, so you need not factor that in.
If you are here after watching Trigun Stampede, that series is a re-imagining of the story from the manga/original anime. As such, you would start at the beginning of the original Trigun manga because things go very differently.
Is The Trigun Manga Over?
The Trigun original manga is complete. It ended in 1997 with Chapter 22.
The Trigun Maximum manga is also complete. It ended in 2007 with Chapter 102.
