Strike the Blood looks like a sloppy adaptation on paper, but its only real flaw is how fast it speeds through the material.

Where To Start The Strike The Blood Light Novel After The Anime?
The Strike The Blood anime is, technically, a full adaptation of the novels. However, in this case “full adaptation” does not translate to “good adaptation.”
- Strike The Blood Season 1 (TV) adapted Novel 1 through Novel 6. Episode 23 and 24 adapted a loose version of Novel 17.
- Strike the Blood Kingdom of Valkyria (OVA) – Adapted Novel 18.
- Strike The Blood II (OVA) adapted Novel 9, Novel 11, and Novel 12 – Skipping Novel 10 except for a couple of moments from it.
- Strike the Blood III (OVA) adapted Novel 13, Novel 14, and Novel 15.
- Strike the Blood IV (OVA) adapts Novel 16, Novel 19, Novel 20, and Novel 21 – Skipping Novel 17 and 18 as they were adapted elsewhere.
- Strike the Blood Final (OVA) adapted Novel 22, the end of the series.
Now, for some additional notes on all that:
- Novel 17, or rather, the portion adapted in the anime was a short story when the anime was made. The story was later expanded upon and stretched into Novel 17. So it wasn’t that the anime skipped a whole bunch of stuff so much as it was Novel 17 didn’t actually come out in its polished, expanded form until after the anime aired.
- Novel 18 is based on the Kingdom of Valkyria OVAs that premiered after the first season of anime. So the OVA were anime-original when they came out in 2015, but were made canon when Novel 18 came out in 2017.
Is The Strike The Blood Light Novel Over?
The Strike The Blood light novel is complete. It ended in 2020 with Novel 22.
Where To Start The Strike The Blood Manga After The Anime?
While Strike the Blood had a manga series, it only adapts the events of Season 1 before rather inconclusively ending.
Is The Strike The Blood Manga Over?
The Strike the Blood manga is complete. It ended in 2017 with Volume 10, Chapter 54.
It adapted through Novel 6 of the light novel.
What to Expect From The Strike The Blood Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The Strike The Blood anime and manga both sort of do the light novel a serious disservice by skipping all the emotional depth and character building moments in lieu of getting to the next bit of action. If you did enjoy the story, even if you can’t exactly “pick it up” at a certain point in the light novels, I really recommend trying to read the light novels from the beginning.
You will get a much deeper, more thoughtful story and a lot of delicious moments between all the characters that build out their relationships to each other.
Will There Be A Strike The Blood Season 6?
Strike the Blood is a complete adaptation of the light novels, and even if it isn’t great, it will likely remain the only adaptation we get.
