While Strawberry Panic has a special place in the hearts of a lot of yuri fans, the story you enjoyed in the anime is not quite the same story that you can enjoy elsewhere.
That’s not such a bad thing in this case, though, since it really just means you get more new stuff with the same characters you still love.

TL;DR – Read the Strawberry Panic light novels from the beginning, the light novel story is very different.
You could say that the Strawberry Panic anime is a full adaptation of the the light novel series, but that’s not quite right. It would be more accurate to say that the Strawberry Panic anime isn’t much of an adaptation of the original light novel story.
When you head into the Strawberry Panic light novel after watching the anime, you will find the setting the same, but for everything else—you will see a lot of differences.
The major cast and their relationships with each other are mostly left the same, though with a few small differences. You will find minor characters from the anime that are just not present in the light novels as well as some minor characters from the anime that have larger and/or different roles in the light novel story. Furthermore, a lot of story events are quite different in the light novel, particularly the Etoile competition that the light novels takes a lot more seriously and puts a lot more focus on.
Finally, the Strawberry Panic light novels also feature significantly less sexual content.
