As the anime got a sizable 2-cour season, it was able to adapt quite a bit of the story and do it reasonably well. However, the So I’m a Spider So What anime tended to focus on the titular spider story whereas the light novels focuses on her as was well as the other members of her class. The anime often cut the stories of the human characters to fit in more Kumoko. However, some of the confusing storytelling blame can also be laid at the feet of the light novels too…
I recommend you read So I’m a Spider So What from the beginning. You miss a lot of other character stories that do become important later on and the anime did jump around just enough to be confusing when continuing the story.

Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement of a So I’m a Spider So What Season 2 anime.
While there is nothing that can’t be “unf*cked” with enough creativity, the anime did put itself in a bit of a storytelling corner that would make a second season more difficult to pull off. Furthermore, the anime was released in 2021 and Millepensee (the animation studio) is truly the worst in the business so they never get green-lit for second seasons. So I’m a Spider So What Season 2 is very unlikely.
