Sengoku Youko has the unfortunate lot of being a sneaky series. It starts off incredibly average and not especially good, which means tons of people dropped it early.
However, I have the great benefit of having to watch a lot of anime longer than sometimes I would like to. So I was there, in the trenches, with the hopeful manga fans, when Sengoku Youko “got good.”
And once it got good, it only kept getting better, honestly.

Where To Start The Sengoku Youko Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the first part of the Sengoku Youko anime (Episode 13) and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can start at Chapter 36.
What to Expect From The Sengoku Youko Manga?
Sengoku Youko is a decent enough adaptation. Manga fans are a bit mad that the anime didn’t have as much “sizzle” to sell its admittedly “only okay” first part, but the anime told the story fine.
You don’t need to read the Sengoku Youko manga from the beginning unless you want to. Particularly because the best part of the story starts where the anime left off.
Is The Sengoku Youko Manga Over?
The Sengoku Youko manga is complete. It ended in 2016 with Chapter 100.
Will There Be A Sengoku Youko Season 2?
Sengoku Youko’s first – and possibly only – season isn’t done yet. Following the 13th episode, they announced it would be split-cour, so Part 2 of Season 1 is airing in July 2024.
Furthermore, Sengoku Youko is a shorter action manga and the anime is slated for 37 episodes. So it is extremely likely that they will be wrapping up the series – if not with Part 2 – then soon after.
