While I will always remember School Rumble as my introduction to massive love polygons where everyone loves someone, but no one ever loves them back, it is one of those underrated gems of anime comedy from a time when anime wasn’t half as popular as it is now.
It’s a shame School Rumble wasn’t adapted today, since it would be pretty popular. Unfortunately, too many take one look at that older animation and pass it over. They’re loss, I guess.

Where To Start The School Rumble Manga After The Anime?
If you finished both seasons of the School Rumble anime and wish to pick up the story in the manga, you can do so at Chapter 162.
The anime adapts nine out of eleven total chapters in Volume 13.
The Third Semester OVA does, very loosely, adapt the ending of the manga, but… It’s not great. It also skips about 150 chapters to do so, and you only get 2 episodes. Best to just not watch the OVA and read your way to the end in the manga, you will get a much better experience.
What to Expect From The School Rumble Manga?
Keep in mind that, due to the randomness of the story and events in School Rumble, the anime adapted a lot of stuff out of order. This means you may see a few things after Chapter 162 in the anime, but that’s where you want to start the manga so you don’t miss anything important.
Be sure to read School Rumble Z as well. It is a single volume sequel series that is half random short stories, and half stories that tie to events after the manga ending.
Is The School Rumble Manga Over?
The School Rumble manga is complete. It ended in 2008 with Chapter 345.
Will There Be A School Rumble Season 3?
The days of School Rumble, both the anime and the manga, are long over. Any continuations are out of the question, so the best you could ever hope for is a reboot.
