While not the first or the last of the enduringly popular “popular person falls for unpopular person” sub-genre of romance anime, Say “I Love You” is probably one of the more complex of the lot with its complicated cast of characters and men who all have the coolest haircuts of all the shoujo boys. However, while the Say “I Love You” anime gave a good taste of the story, there is still quite a bit more to explore in the manga.

You may wish to start closer to Chapter 17 if you don’t just want to read the manga from the beginning. Do be aware that the anime did skip about two chapters closer to the beginning, so it gives reading the story from chapter one a little more value.
