This start point remains the same if you have watched the OVAs too. The last OVA introduces a story-important character who will appear in chapter 10. So, while you may see some events from the anime in later chapters, you still need to start at chapter 10 so you do not miss story-important information.

Will There Be A Sankarea Season 2?
As the anime aired in 2012, and the manga is long over, it is unlikely there will be a Sankarea Season 2 anime. While Sankarea is occasionally as sinister as you would want a horror romance to be, the anime only covered the relatively slow burn of it. Slow burns often mean low profits, and unprofitable anime don’t get second seasons.
