Aside from some deviations near the end of season two, the Saekano anime is a great adaptation of it’s light novel source, but the source material still leaves more to be discovered.
Where To Start The Saekano Light Novel After The Anime?
If you have finished season two of the Saekano anime, you will want to pick up the light novel at Novel 8.
If you have also watched the Saekano movie, because of how season two ends, it sets it up so the movie skips a few volumes of light novel, so it is canon and does wrap up the series, but you should still read from Novel 8 to get what they skipped.
Is The Saekano Light Novel Over?
The Saekano light novel is complete. It ended in 2017 with Novel 13.
Where To Start The Saekano Manga After The Anime?
Saekano has a manga, but it only adapted up to Novel 8. It is really just adapting what the anime adapted (without including the movie) so you cannot continue the Saekano story with the Saekano manga.
It completed in 2016 with Chapter 42.
What to Expect From The Saekano Source Material Compared to The Anime?
You will find small differences between the Saekano anime and the light novel throughout, with the anime changing events at the end of Season 2 to fit their needs. Obviously, the fact that the movie skips so many novels to adapt the end is also an issue.
However, you don’t technically need to read the Saekano light novels from the beginning unless you really want to. You should, however, just read them instead of watching the movie, though.
