This is the future of isekai. When there is no more “unique hooks” to place on a human character, the hook becomes them getting isekai’d as objects. That said, I can appreciate the hell out of the above average amount of effort the author put into making Reborn As a Vending Machine work as a premise. Outside of that, it was a perfectly average, actually pretty enjoyable light-hearted isekai.
Where To Start The Reborn as a Vending Machine Light Novel After The Anime?
Continuing the Reborn as a Vending Machine story after the anime is actually more difficult than usual.
Like all light novel anime, Reborn as a Vending Machine started as a web novel. The light novel got three volumes, but then was canceled due to lack of sales in 2017.
The anime actually adapts all three light novels, but you can still continue the Reborn as a Vending Machine story after the first season of the anime at Web Novel Chapter 73.
Where To Start The Reborn as a Vending Machine Manga After The Anime?
As the light novel was canceled and they have not announced any plans to renew it, the manga will be the official source material for Reborn as a Vending Machine going forward.
However, while Reborn as a Vending Machine has a manga, it is actually pretty new. As of Chapter 15, the most recent chapter I could find, it is at Episode 5 of the anime – dealing with the Chain Restaurant trying to come to town.
Will There Be A Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 2?
It also apparently boosted vending machine sales enough to immediately get renewed for a second season, which is actually kind of weird considering the state of its source material. But whatever! (That bit about boosting vending machine sales was a joke, I don’t know the actual reason it got renewed.)
There has been no further news as the when Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 2 anime will air.
