Where Does The Ranking of Kings Anime End in The Manga?

Did you know Ranking of Kings was based off a manga? Because I sure didn’t, but I am so glad I know now! That anime was low-key, but truly a masterpiece and one of the more original things I’ve watched lately.

Where To Start The Ranking of Kings Manga After The Anime?

If you want to continue Ranking of Kings after the anime with the manga, you can start at Chapter 156.

As for Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage, that anime series isn’t technically a sequel to the first season – at first. It is just covering a lot of the stuff that they skipped in the first season because it didn’t quite fit in there with the pacing. That’s also why Treasure Chest of Courage feels kind of disjointed in its storytelling.

However, Treasure Chest of Courage did advance the plot a little more later on, which means if you also watched that series, you would want to start the manga at Chapter 165.

What to Expect From The Ranking of Kings Manga?

The Ranking of Kings anime adaptation moves at a wild pace, but actually doesn’t leave many major plot points out. In fact, in some cases, it covers things even a bit better than the manga does. However, the anime did zip right on through some fights in the later half.

Regardless, there is no reason to read the manga from the beginning unless you just want to.

Is The Ranking of Kings Manga Over?

The Ranking of Kings manga is still ongoing. However, while it started publishing in 2019, it was announced in Spring 2023 that the manga is on indefinite hiatus. There is no reason for the hiatus given nor a return date.

Will There Be A Ranking of Kings Season 2?

Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement of a Ranking of Kings Season 2 anime.

While there would be enough chapters for a shorter second season, with the manga being on indefinite hiatus currently, it seems very unlikely that they would risk making a season 2 at this time. However, as it got Treasure Chest of Courage, that is a good sign that it was indeed popular and profitable enough to continue adapting to anime in the future.
