Otherside Picnic offered an interesting new twist on isekai at the right time – when isekai was seeming very, very samey. It also offered a potential girl’s love story within. Unfortunately, as some anime series do, it sort of flubbed everything by cutting a large chunk of the girl’s love and not adapting its source material as well as people would have liked.

The Otherside Picnic light novels are still ongoing. Since launching in 2017, it usually releases at least one novel per year, but does occasionally skip years.
Where To Start The Otherside Picnic Manga After The Anime?
Otherside Picnic also has a manga. Technically, the anime ends after the Little Bird in a Box arc, which would mean you start at Chapter 48 in the manga.
However, the anime did wedge that entire arc quickly into the last episode. As such, you may wish to read, at least, the Little Bird in a Box arc starting from the beginning, which is Chapter 42.
Is The Otherside Picnic Manga Over?
The Otherside Picnic manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2018, it has steadily released two volumes per year.
What to Expect From The Otherside Picnic Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The Otherside Picnic is, by far and wide, considered a pretty poor adaptation. It has full anime-original episodes, small jaunts to content from later novels, and skips a lot of crucial details (and shoujo ai moments) from the light novels.
It is really recommended to to read the light novels, or manga, from the beginning. The manga captures the story well, but the light novels embrace shoujo ai more.
Will There Be A Otherside Picnic Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of an Otherside Picnic Season 2 anime.
As the anime aired in 2021, the window is still open, but fans of the Otherside Picnic series were really not particularly fond of the anime. As such, I don’t think it will prove popular and profitable enough to get a second season.
