It is always unfortunate when a series starts as a bit of a slog only to legitimately “get good” later on. That is the sort of series Nura is, one where you can see it has interesting bones, but the first season is clearly not a quality product as an adaptation of the story.

In truth, Nura Season 1 is terrible. It paces out events tediously, it skips many of the cooler moments, and makes many small changes to the story. The second season of the anime follows the manga much closer and is generally the better anime experience.
