The New Saga manga does technically adapt the end of the light novel, but it does condense the story for Novels 6 through 9 to do so. While you are getting the novel’s ending (Novel 10) in manga form, they definitely skipped a lot of novel content to get you there.
What to Expect From The New Saga Source Material Compared to The Anime?
While The New Saga seems like a sort of boilerplate adventure, its charm is in its characters and its detailed “cause and effect” sort of story on how the main character alters the future and tries to sort out if events wills till happen. The anime captures that, but it does leave out a lot of the finer details on events from the light novel.
It is worth noting that, while the manga is still a good way to continue the story, it is not a perfect adaptation of the light novel. The anime and manga both leave out details from the light novel, but aside nothing that was skipped will prevent you from jumping into the story, esspecially if youa re continuing it with the manga rather than the novel.
