Anime and gaming are as close as lewd hand-holding cousins when it comes to hobbies. If you like one, you are probably going to like the other, which makes an anime about creating video games made by cute anime girls a natural home run.
Furthermore, this CGDCT series even dares to have some semblance of a plot that keeps people coming back for more.
Where To Start The New Game Manga After The Anime?
If you finished both seasons of the New Game anime and want to pick up the story with the manga, you can start at Chapter 65.
Do note that the anime skipped the entirety of Volume 5 of the manga (often labeled “Chapter 51.1 through Chapter 51.13” on less legal sites). Theses side stories are a prequel from before the story started. You can carry on with the story from Chapter 65/Volume 7 just fine without reading them, but they were not animated, so you may wish to read them.
What to Expect From The New Game Manga?
Aside from skipping Volume 5 which was made to celebrate the release of the first season of the anime, New Game was quite a diligent anime adaptation. Since there is a plot, it couldn’t jump around like many other CGDCT/slice of life anime like to.
The anime does leave out some small details, but there is nothing worth reading the manga from the beginning for unless you want to.

The New Game manga is over. It ended in 2021 with Chapter 165.
Will There Be A New Game Season 3?
While New Game was popular enough to get a second season, there has been no new anime announcement since season 2 ended in 2017. Given that the manga also concluded in 2021 without a peep, it is safe to say a New Game Season 3 anime is not going to happen.
