Where Does The Negima / UQ Holder Anime End in The Manga?

What is it about Ken Akamatsu series where the anime creators feel the need to dive off script and freestyle it? It happened with the end of Love Hina, but Negima got it so much worse.

Where To Start The Negima Manga After The Anime?

If you built an enjoyment of Negima with the anime, boy do you have your work cut out for you jumping into the manga. The absolute easiest answer is just to read it from the beginning. Honestly, it is the best way for your own enjoyment and understanding of the story.

If you do wish to dive on in, the original 2005 anime adapts up to Chapter 25 of the manga before Episode 21 where the story veers into anime-only content. The 2006 version by Studio Shaft is completely original content and does not follow the manga at all.

Honestly, it is sad that the best anime adaptations are the White Wing and Another World OVAs, but they adapt story arcs from Chapter 200-ish in the manga, so you can’t really pick up the story after those and hope to understand it. Those OVAs are more for manga fans that wanted to see that part of the story animated.

Where To Start The UQ Holder Manga After The Anime?

As for UQ Holder, well, it adapts much more, and does so very quickly and spottily. It technically leaves off at Chapter 134 of the manga, but it skipped so much getting there in the anime, it is honestly, again, better to just read from the beginning.

Is The Negima / UQ Holder Manga Over?

The Negima manga is over. It ended in 2012 with Chapter 355.

The UQ Holder is also complete. It ended in 2022 with Chapter 192.
