If you have watched up to the sixth season of Natsume Yuujinchou, you can start the manga at around Chapter 80. As the series is so episodic, you might miss a few things and see a few things done later, but this is where the general plot leaves off.
If you have watched the movie after the sixth season, Natsume Yuujinchou: Ephemeral Bond, the jumping in point is still the same since the events weren’t canon.
However, if you watched the 2021 Natsume’s Book of Friends: The Waking Rock and the Strange Visitor movie, this is canon, and as such, you would start the manga at Chapter 99.
What to Expect From The Natsume Yuujinchou Manga?
If you were to read the Natsume Yuujinchou manga from the beginning, you would notice that the anime jumps wildly around the story as it pleases. However, it doesn’t actually skip too much. While many chapters were skipped between Season 6 and The Waking Rock movie, it is likely that the upcoming Season 7 will have that covered.
As such, you don’t really need to read the Natsume Yuujinchou manga from the beginning unless you want to because it doesn’t actually skip that much.

While Natsume Yuujinchou seemed to be becoming one of those long-running anime that fade into obscurity before actually adapting all the series because it caught up to the manga, a surprise Season 7 was announced in 2023. However, there has been no further news on when Natsume Yuujinchou Season 7 will actually air.
