Where To Start The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Manga After The Anime?

If you finished the Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Chapter 1 of the original Mythical Detective Loki series.

One quick note: The original manga is titled Mythical Detective Loki. The manga that the anime is titled after, Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, is technically the sequel manga series.

Right from the beginning, the Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok anime is using the same characters and the same concept of Loki opening a paranormal detective agency, but much of the anime is very different from the manga.

Alongside character personality changes (including for Loki himself), the anime focuses far more on the manga’s monster-of-the-week beginning and really kind of ignores the linear plot of Loki’s conflict with the Norse Gods until right at the end of the anime—which it handled in an anime-original way anyway.

The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok anime uses some elements from the original manga, but it is really not adapting any of the story in very diligent way. It is required to read from the beginning if you want the actual plot and it’s canon ending.

Is The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Manga Over?

The Mythical Detective Loki manga is complete. It ended in 2001 with Volume 7, Chapter 34.

The sequel manga, Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, is also complete. It ended in 2004 with Volume 5, Chapter 26.

The sequel to that manga, The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok: Gods of the New World, is also complete. It ended in 2015 with Volume 6, Chapter 43.

Will There Be A Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Season 2?

As there has not been more Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok anime since it aired in 2003, I would say hope for a second season is pretty dead.
