Where To Start The Mysterious Disappearances Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Mysterious Disappearances anime and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can start at Chapter 40.
The anime starts the Cat King arc in the anime in episode 11, then promptly abandons it to set up an anime-original ending in the second half of Episode 11 and Episode 12. You may wish to read Chapter 39, which you would have seen in the anime, just to get a smooth transition because the anime abandons the arc, and Chapter 40 continues that arc, in kind of an awkward “in the middle of the action” spot.
What to Expect From The Mysterious Disappearances Manga?
Anime-original ending aside, The Mysterious Disappearances anime wasn’t an especially good anime adaptation – not because they skipped a ton – but rather because they censored a fair bit.
The anime suggests it, but the Mysterious Disappearances manga is an ecchi horror/mystery series. The anime makes some strange censorship choices in that they insert their own anime-original ecchi, yet censor manga-canon ecchi. They also nipped out a decent chunk of the gore as well.
If you enjoy the series because it is a bit ecchi, you would definitely enjoy reading the manga from the beginning.
Is The Mysterious Disappearances Manga Over?
The Mysterious Disappearances manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2020, it usually releases two volumes per year.
Will There Be A Mysterious Disappearances Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Mysterious Disappearances Season 2 anime.
As they did an anime-original ending – even cutting out in the middle of an arc – suggests they already know they are not making a Season 2.
