While Muhyo and Roji enticed fans of episodic supernatural mysteries before switching to a more arc-based formula, it is unfortunately suffers from a classic case of “Studio Deen put only half an ass into animating this series” syndrome.
In this debilitating malady, a pretty good supernatural mystery series seems more bland and repetitive than its manga counterpart because they cut corners to save on the budget.

What to Expect From The Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation Manga?
Something to keep in mind with the Muhyo and Roji manga is that it starts off kind of episodic and random before moving into firmer extended story arcs later on. So the beginning of the anime does skip a couple of the early chapters, but the anime did still find a way to weave in some of the episodic early chapters into Season 1.
After about Chapter 10 (Episode 4 of the anime), the anime starts to adapt things more linearly because the manga story has become more linear.
Outside of that, the Muhyo and Roji anime is not always such a great adaptation. It altered a few events and also only partially adapted some chapters. However, as it does sort of self-contain the story arcs a bit, the parts that it skipped won’t really prevent you from understanding the story if you just want to continue onward in the manga.
However, there is definitely a little extra merit to reading the Muhyo and Roji manga from the beginning because of the somewhat slap-dash job of the anime.
Is The Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation Manga Over?
The Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation manga is complete. It ended in 2008 with Chapter 159.
The is also a brief sequel manga,Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation: Magical Genus Magic Tool Chapter (Mazoku Magushi-hen) manga that is also complete. It ended in 2019 with Chapter 19.
Will There Be A Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation Season 3?
Muhyo and Roji really struggled to attract fans in its first few episodes, and Season 2 was, well, not widely watched. So while it has only been since 2020 when Season 2 came out, you should not get your hopes up for a Muhyo and Roji Season 2 anime.
