Sequel and spin-off to Initial D, MF Ghost brings eurobeats back to anime with a modern setting – but still the same old Initial D art style. That said, having a full series about a guy in a Toyota 86 beating people in high-end luxury racing cars requires both the suspension of disbelief and is actually quite fun to watch.

What to Expect From The MF Ghost Manga?
Like with Initial D, it can be a challenge to get into the MF Ghost manga if you started with the anime. The manga, because it is not animation, does tend to focus more on the talking aspect of the series rather than the visual racing. Having someone talking about the race while actually watching it happen is a pretty different experience to just watching people talk about a race with the occasional car shot.

However, a sequel manga, called Subaru and Subaru started in 2025.
