Where To Start The Magic Knight Rayearth Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Magic Knight Rayearth anime and want to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Volume 3, Chapter 11.
Strictly speaking, it would be best to read the Magic Knight Rayearth manga from the beginning, the anime is mostly filler and changes much.
To put things into perspective, the original Magic Knight Rayearth manga, which Season 1 adapts fully, is 15 chapters while the anime was 20 episodes.
While the first three episodes of anime were actually fairly faithful to the first volume of manga (the first six chapters), things only grow more different from there due to filler, changes, and it’s anime-original characters. The second volume is plagued by changes as well as filler, but technically adapts the story in a workable capacity while the third volume is greatly changed.
The anime moves increasingly into filler, culminating of the Magic Knight Rayearth 2 sequel anime being so wildly different from the Magic Knight Rayearth 2 sequel manga it is still somewhat trying to adapt.
The Rayearth OVA abandons even trying and is just using the characters in an alternate setting, even changing their relationships to each other.
