Do note that the end of the anime is just a bit different from the novel in regards to what happens to Kazuki, much of the rest of it is pretty similar.

While Maburaho has two manga series, neither appear to adapt the light novel/anime story. Though, I can only find the two-volume original manga by Miyashita Miki, and that one appears to just be telling the romance/harem focused version of the story without all the other plot and ends with a tidy manga-original ending.

What to Expect From The Maburaho Source Material Compared to The Anime?

While the Maburaho anime is often following the story of the novel, it is playing it a little fast and loose with adapting the story, not adapting it very diligently.

Not only is there a decent amount of anime-original content, including some original minor characters, but the events are often lightly changed.

If you know the characters and the story thus far, you don’t technically need to read the light novels from the beginning, especially since the anime wrapped up a longer arc and the novels are starting a new one at the point where the anime ended, but you would get a lot of new story if you did read the Maburaho story from the beginning.

Will There Be A Maburaho Season 2?

As the Maburaho anime ended in 2004, it seems there is no hope for a Maburaho Season 2 anime.
