I can see why people call Love and Lies a bit frustrating even among the already frustrating genre of romance drama anime. It focuses on one girl. Then the other girl. It then does that on repeat until it ultimately ends with no resolution in sight.
That’s the curse of incomplete anime adaptations sometimes, but Love and Lies even frustratingly continues the trend in the manga as well. At least you do eventually get an ending or two, though.
Where To Start The Love and Lies Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Love and Lies anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can do so at Chapter 118.
The weekly chapter releases of Love and Lies were very short. As such, for the officially published volumes, they combined the chapters into larger chapters. This is why fan translations have 287 chapters, and the official chapter count for Love and Lies is a very low 62 chapters. If you are looking to read the series legally, your start point is Volume 6.
What to Expect From The Love and Lies Manga?
The series has an anime-original ending, but is a decent overall adaptation.
The only real issue is that in the latter half of the anime, the series starts switching up the event timeline and leaving a few bits out to get to a satisfactory anime endpoint. While you can piece what happened together through context if you start at Chapter 118, you may want to start closer to Chapter 90 in order to get the official order of late-anime events. Just knowing that some events happened at different times is enough to get the context, however. So this is not necessary, just something to consider.
It isn’t necessary to read the manga from the beginning unless you want to. However, the chapters are particularly short, so it also would not take too long either.
Is The Love and Lies Manga Over?
The Love and Lies manga is complete. It ended in 2022 with Chapter 287 (Chapter 62 in the licensed version.)
Will There Be A Love and Lies Season 2?
With the manga over and the anime somewhat divisive, I highly doubt there will ever be a Love and Lies Season 2 anime. It ended in as noncommittal a way as the manga would have wanted.
