It’s always nice to see Korean manhwa getting anime adaptations. Starting with the popular ones like Tower of God, God of High School, and now Lookism is a pretty good way to grow the medium internationally as well as get more anime adaptations in the future.
All that said, damn does Lookism really feed into the stereotype that Korea is ultra-superficial.

What to Expect From The Lookism Manga?
Anime adaptations of Korean manhwa have a bit of a reputation for not being great, and Lookism is no different. It captures the core story, but leaves a lot of nuance and details out, which, in Lookism, actually makes the story seem even more superficial than it is.
As the anime didn’t actually cover that much, I would recommend reading it from the beginning, but you don’t technically need to.
Is The Lookism Manga Over?
The Lookism manhwa is still ongoing. Since launching in 2014, it has slowed down to about two volumes per year.
Will There Be A Lookism Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Lookism Season 2 anime.
The longer Lookism goes without a second season announcement, the more unlikely it becomes.
