While anime like No Game No life or Kakegurui proved that anime almost fully based around playing games can be wildly popular, Liar, Liar just didn’t live up to any sort of potential. It cut a lot of what endeared to the light novel to people and didn’t even do a great job making the games interesting or, at times, even make sense.

The Liar, Liar light novel is complete. It ended with Novel 15 in 2023.
Where To Start The Liar, Liar Manga After The Anime?
Liar Liar also has a manga series, but it is well behind the anime. It is currently, as of Chapter 38, just introducing Tsumugi, so roughly about half way through Episode 8.
Is The Liar, Liar Manga Over?
The Liar, Liar manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2020, it has had a sluggish and strange release schedule. It released two volumes in 2020, then two volumes in 2023. So who knows when another is coming.
What to Expect From The Liar, Liar Source Material Compared to The Anime?
As an adaptation of the light novel, the Liar, Liar anime is not the greatest. It also does something sort of uncommon and not advised – it de-lewded its wide array of cute anime waifus. What that means is that the light novel/manga versions of all the girls are a lot more shapely and marketable than the blander versions in the anime.
Not only did the Liar, Liar anime cut the ecchi of the series, but it also cut out almost all of the slice of life moments that help bond the characters together. It skipped them for games, but also didn’t even adapt all the games either.
As such, I really would recommend reading the Liar, Liar light novel from the beginning.
Will There Be A Liar, Liar Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Liar, Liar Season 2 anime.
The fact that the anime coincided with the conclusion of the Liar, Liar light novel means that this series was promotional. If it proved profitable, there may be a season 2, but given the reception, it seems unlikely.
