While not the most innovative or original series, The Last Summoner does appear to at least try to inject some new elements into it plot – right before it firmly returns to more familiar donghua plots. If nothing else, it is a fine watch to turn your brain off with and, to its credit, doesn’t have too much of a jarring shift in animation quality that often can be distracting in Chinese-made animation.
