A lot of anime depends on you not questioning the premise too much and just enjoying what it gives you. Kotaro Lives Alone, being about a four-year-old who lives alone, seemed very much like that. However, I appreciate the heck out of the series for giving a plausible reason why and how he lives alone, even if that reason hurts a lot more deeply than you were expecting from such a cute-looking anime.
Where To Start The Kotaro Lives Alone Manga After The Anime?
The very quick answer to where you can pick up the Kotaro Lives Alone manga after the anime is, technically, Chapters 86.
However, it did skip a lot of chapters adapting up to that point.
What to Expect From The Kotaro Lives Alone Manga?
Kotaro Lives Alone skips chapters 22, 29, and 31, which aren’t particularly crucial to the plot. However, I think the anime wanted to end with that particularly devastating reveal, so to adapt Chapter 85, it was willing to skip Chapters 61 through 84 to get there.
As such, if you don’t want to read it from the beginning, it is recommended to at least start at Chapter 61 where the large chunk of skipped chapters started.

Will There Be A Kotaro Lives Alone Season 2?
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement of a Kotaro Lives Alone Season 2 anime.
The anime came out in 2022 and the window for another season is still open. However, as the manga has concluded without a word, it seems more unlikely that it will not be continued.
