Where To Start The King’s Avatar Web Novel After The Anime?
If you finished the King’s Avatar anime and wish to continue the story in the novel, you can start at:
- If you finished the King’s Avatar Season 1 anime – You can start the novel at Chapter 235
- If you finished the King’s Avatar All-Star Weekend OVAs – You can start the novel at Chapter 346
- If you finished the King’s Avatar Season 2 anime – You can start the novel at Chapter 621
- If you finished the King’s Avatar Season 3 anime – You can start the novel at Chapter 1080.
The movie is a prequel to the series, and primarily anime-original, but does loosely adapt some of the events of the For the Glory prequel novel.
The OVAs start adapting the story at Chapter 300, so there was a large chunk of skipped content between the OVAs and where Season 1 ended.
For the official release (the one you can buy on Amazon), the chapters have been condensed down somewhat, so the chapter numbers become skewed as you go on. The above numbering is for the web novel that you can read free online. I would put the official numbering too, but it requires buying the release and I’m too broke for all of that. You can play match the chapter titles with the web novel if you don’t want to just read it from the beginning (since I am going to assume the official release does change and cut parts out.)
Is The King’s Avatar Web Novel Over?
The King’s Avatar novel is complete. It ended in 2014 with Chapter 1728.
Where To Start The King’s Avatar Manhua After The Anime?
The King’s Avatar has two manhua series, one from 2015 that was canceled, and a reboot in 2020. The reboot is more easily found and adapts much further.
If you finished the King’s Avatar anime and wish to continue the story in the manhua, you can start at:
- If you finished the King’s Avatar Season 1 anime – You can start the manhua at Chapter 67.
- If you finished the King’s Avatar Season 2 anime – You can start the manhua at Chapter 170.
Do note that the events of the manhua, like the novel events from the anime, are changed and condensed. So these start points will be “similar, but different” to the corresponding moments in the anime.
Is The King’s Avatar Manga Over?
The King’s Avatar manhua is still ongoing.
What to Expect From The King’s Avatar Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The best advice for enjoying the King’s Avatar story after the anime in any form is to read it from the beginning. The anime condenses the novel events a lot, and also sometimes skips full arcs. The manhua also condenses the novel story and makes its own changes that make it different from even the anime at times.
If you enjoy the story, the novel is far more dense with the story, world, and character details. It is considered the best way to enjoy the story and you should read it from the beginning for the best experience.
That said, the anime gives you the basics of what is going on in the story, and if you don’t mind missing some information, you technically can jump into the novel or manhua providing you keep the fact that you have missed sizable chunks of story at times in mind.
Finally, bear in mind that Season 3 was… particularly bad as an adaptation, so you may want to start where Season 2 ended at least.
Will There Be A King’s Avatar Season 4?
While a key visual poster for a King’s Avatar Season 4 has been released, no one has any idea when it is coming out because China is not as forthcoming like Japan when it comes to announcing upcoming donghua productions.
