It started off edgy, but gruesome enough to catch my interest. However, after a bloodbath on the moon, my interest rapidly deteriorated when the revenge focus began to fade due to the usual reasons. If you are going to be an edgy revenge story, at least be all in with it.

Where To Start The Kingdoms of Ruin Manga After The Anime?
If you finished The Kingdoms of Ruin anime and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can do so at Chapter 34.
The anime adapts half of Volume 7 of the manga. Unfortunately, there are only nine volumes total at present.
What to Expect From The Kingdoms of Ruin Manga?
The anime is actually a quite good adaptation of of the manga story, though the manga does make moments seem a little grander with its detailed art style.
If you enjoyed The Kingdoms of Ruin anime for the grit and the gore, the manga actually delivers that a lot better. As such, you may wish to read the manga from the beginning to see those big moments in more glorious detail. However, you need not read The Kingdoms of Ruin manga from the beginning because it skipped story. It adapted the core story quite diligently.
The Kingdoms of Ruin is actually a side story that takes place in the same world as The Kingdom of Caliburn, an earlier manga by the same author. You will find several references to The Kingdom of Caliburn in The Kingdoms of Ruin, but both are completely standalone works.
The Kingdoms of Caliburn is actually a complete series if the lack of The Kingdoms of Ruin content has got you down and you want more of that world.
Is The Kingdoms of Ruin Manga Over?
The Kingdoms of Ruin is still ongoing, but slow going. The manga started in 2019 and has released two volumes per year since with volume nine releasing in the later end of 2023.
Will There Be a The Kingdoms of Ruin Season 2?
Unfortunately, The Kingdoms of Ruin Season 2 anime has not been announced. This could mean that the anime was not popular enough to receive another season, despite the first season ending in a somewhat inconclusive and unsatisfying way.
That said, the main reason there may not be a second season of The Kingdoms of Ruin anime for awhile is that there are only 44 chapters of manga right now, which means they would not have enough content to adapt another full season at this point.
