I always enjoy anime that subverts my expectations, and Kemono Jihen did that in a few ways. Due to its art style, you can take a look at it and think it will be a slightly immature shounen battler. Instead, it makes it known early and often that this is a pretty dark series. So dark, in fact, that if you just watched the anime, they’ve censored how messed up the story really is.
Where To Start The Kemono Jihen Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Kemono Jihen anime and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can start at Chapter 22. The anime does adapt most of Chapter 22, but it kind of ends 3/4ths of the way through.
The anime adapts three out of four total chapters in Volume 6.
What to Expect From The Kemono Jihen Manga?
I strongly recommend reading the Kemeno Jihen manga from the beginning, for two reasons. The manga is a lot more gruesome than the anime. The anime censored and cut out a lot of the more messed up things that happen in this manga. Additionally, the anime cuts out about three chapters with events that will be called back to later as well as rearranges some events that have more impact when you read them in the original manga continuity.
Is The Kemono Jihen Manga Over?
The Kemono Jihen manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2017, it usually releases at a three-volume per year pace.
Will There Be A Kemono Jihen Season 2?
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement of a Kemono Jihen Season 2 anime.
Kemono Jihen was both not excessively popular and not exactly a very marketable shounen action anime given the particularly explicit backstories. Nothing is impossible, but money talks in the anime industry and Kemono Jihen likely did not make much in the way of profit.
