Karakuri Circus is a fantasy story from another age where creators weren’t all following the same standard formula, and definitely weren’t afraid to get a little weird with things.
Unfortunate that its legacy languishes with a sub-par anime adaptation.

Where To Start The Karakuri Circus Manga After The Anime?
TL;DR – The Karakuri Circus anime adapted through the end of the manga, but did so badly. Read it from the beginning.
Strictly speaking, the Karakuri Circus anime is a full adaptation of the manga.
However, it would be better phrased that the 36-episode Karakuri Circus anime is an abridged adaptation of the 425-chapter manga.
If there was a list of sins that an anime adapting a manga story could commit, the Karakuri Circus anime would have committed all of them.
The anime, given its episode-to-chapter ratio, cut a lot of content, sometimes even skipping whole arcs. It skipped character introductions, combined fights, and even combined whole arc stories together just to adapt more manga in its short anime run.
However, it wasn’t just that it cut content, but it also changed content, changing characters and their fates as well as moments in the story all together.
Ultimately, you got a summary of the story in the Karakuri Circus anime, but it wasn’t even an accurate summary of the manga story. The only real option if you enjoyed what the Karakuri Circus anime offered to you is to read the manga from the beginning.
Is The Karakuri Circus Manga Over?
The Karakuri Circus manga is complete. It ended in 2006 with Volume 43, Chapter 425.
