While Kakegurui is a charming little anime that makes gambling seem interesting even to me, someone who fails to find the appeal of gambling outside of the rush, I can’t say the manga has that same charm, but you didn’t come here for my opinions. You came here for answers!
Where To Start The Kakegurui Manga After The Anime?
If you have finished both seasons of the Kakegurui anime, you can start the manga at Chapter 55.
Kakegurui Season 2 adapts all of Volume 10.
If you are also watching Kakegurui Twin, which is a prequel series to the entire Kakegurui series, you can pick up the manga series at Chapter 14 after watching the anime.
The Kakegurui Twin anime adapts all of Volume 3.
What to Expect From The Kakegurui Manga?
The Kakegurui anime has an issue for manga fans because it skips a lot of stuff, but that actually helps to give it that ”never a dull moment” pace. So while you will have missed a lot of chapters of the manga, they aren’t excessively important parts. It does start to make some character changes in Season 2 that may be difficult to transfer to another season of anime as well. I would recommend reading the Kakegurui manga from the beginning, but it isn’t strictly necessary.
If nothing else, you may wish to read Chapter 28 through 33 that are just straight up omitted from the anime.
As for Kakegurui Twin, it is actually a better adaptation of the manga than the main series. So there is actually no need to read that from the beginning.
Is The Kakegurui Manga Over?
The main Kakegurui manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2014, it usually releases one to two volumes per year.
Kakegurui Twin, the prequel manga, is completed with with Chapter 86.
Kakegurui Midari, a side story manga about Midari and Ayame set before Kakegururi, is completed with Chapter 59.
Kakegurui (Kari), a comedic parody 4-koma spin-off manga, is completed with Chapter 308. (They are very short chapters)
Will There Be A Kakegurui Season 3?
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement of either Kakegurui Season 3 or Kakegurui Season 2.
As this is a studio MAPPA anime, Kakegurui Season 2 had some production delays and the studio seems to be going all-in on their more profitable series. They might do it someday, but likely lack the manpower and resources to do it anytime soon.
