Isekai Cheat Magician was a personal low point in isekai anime for me as I watched it when the isekai wave was just cresting over anime. If I watched it now, having embraced the slop wave, I thought I might be less harsh on it.

Then I read it’s actually pretty decent manga and light novel, and changed my mind. It was just a poorly put together anime, not so much a poorly put together story.

What the Isekai Cheat Magician anime offered you was a summary of the novels it covered. It sped through what it adapted, and if it wasn’t moving you towards the next story event, it was cut out.

If you enjoyed this series, you would enjoy it it even more reading either the light novel or the manga from the beginning. Both are excellent compared to the detail-sparse anime. More detailed batters, actually expanded worldbuilding, deeper character relationships.

While I recommend reading the series from the beginning due to how much character interaction and worldbuilding it left out, technically you have all the information you need to continue forward with the plot. The arcs in Isekai Cheat Magicians can be fairly standalone in plot, so if you just want to go forward, technically you can do that fine too.

As the Isekai Cheat Magicians anime aired in 2019, and did a pretty slap-dash job adapting this… long-running isekai series, I doubt there will be more anime at this point.
