Hyouge Mono is famously sold to potential viewers as an anime set in the Warring States era, but about a samurai passionate about tea rather than battle. Yet, while a series that focuses on the more artistic pursuits of the samurai is unique in and of itself, I have always been of the mind that the real reason to enjoy this series is its unique display of feudal politics where everything, down to a gesture, can have meaning and implications. This is especially fitting given the regimented nature of tea ceremony.
That said, Hyouge Mono is a series for those with a passionate interest in the less interesting side of Japanese history.

What to Expect From The Hyouge Mono Manga?
Hyouge Mono received a surprising 39-episode run, which allowed the anime to cover not only a lot of the manga, but do it extremely well. In fact, the anime added a lot of nuance to many of the scenes since, if we are being honest here, the manga is often a bit stiff in the art even if it does do exaggerated facial expressions so well.
You don’t need to read the Hyouge Mono manga from the beginning unless you want to.
