Where Does The Helck Anime End In The Manga?

I actually adore comedy anime that develops plot, even if sometimes you run across comedy anime fans that hate when shenanigans take a back seat for an actual story. Helck was pretty great in that it seemed to start like a “one-joke” sort of comedy anime, but developed a surprisingly dark plot that still didn’t forget to add in plenty of the comedy it had in the beginning between the more serious moments.

Where To Start The Helck Manga After The Anime?

If you finished the Helck anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can do so at Chapter 71. (Though it shaves off the last page or two of chapter 70 for a cleaner season end.)

The anime adapts the first two chapters of the eight total chapters in Volume 8.

What to Expect From The Helck Manga?

The anime is a pretty great adaptation of the source material, so there is no reason to read it from the beginning unless you want to. If there was one reason to do so, I’d say it is because the manga art is more detailed, but they series didn’t skip out on the plot.

The anime did, however, often skip a lot of the omake chapters – which are often just pure silliness rather than any plot.

Is The Helck Manga Over?

The Helck manga is complete! The manga ended with Chapter 106 in 2017.

However, there is a currently ongoing spin-off manga, Helck: Völundio ~Surreal Sword Saga~ following a new character in the same world as well as Piwi, a 7 chapter spin-off about Piwi.

Will There Be A Helck Season 2?

Unfortunately, there has not been an official announcement for a Helck Season 2 anime.

The first season of the anime was a long two-cour season and covers roughly half of the complete story. There is definitely enough story for another season, but the determining factor will be how much the anime boosted sales of the manga or the Blu-ray sales of the anime itself in Japan. That is how the financial success of an anime is measured, and if it proves to be profitable, a second season will likely come.
