Jokes aside, Happy Sugar Life was shocking in a lot of ways, and I was all about its trickery. However, while the anime ends pretty conclusively, that’s not quite the end of this twisted tale.
Where To Start The Happy Sugar Life Manga After The Anime?

What to Expect From The Happy Sugar Life Manga?
The Happy Sugar Life anime ended before the manga, but it clearly had input from the author since the series ends the same way with only some minor differences. Essentially, Chapter 48 is the anime ending, but there are extra chapters beyond that which expands that ending a bit.
While you also have a bit more elaboration on the ending to read, it is also recommend to read Chapters 28 through 31 (the entirety of Volume 7), which the anime skipped. It covers Shio’s parents which, while not too important to the overall plot, fleshes out some details as to her behavior.
While Happy Sugar Life is a pretty good adaptation, it does skip, change, and sometimes even expand on things. As it does skip a whole arc and the ending has a few details changed, you may wish to read the Happy Sugar Life manga from the beginning, but it is not strictly necessary.
