From the brief anime era of “potato people” with Girl’s Last Tour and Made in Abyss, Hakumei and Mikochi dared to be just a wholesome fantasy slice of life series instead of traumatizing you by doing terrible things to its overly cute characters! Hooray!
But really, it was a good series to grab some snacks and just relax watching since there is never really anything too dire going on.
Where To Start The Hakumei and Mikochi Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Hakumei and Mikochi anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Chapter 28.
Technically, the anime adapts Chapter 30 and Chapter 33, but you mind as well read the chapters it skipped.
What to Expect From The Hakumei and Mikochi Manga?
As Hakumei and Mikochi is a plot-less slice of life series, the manga doesn’t really have a linear storyline. As such, the anime adapts chapters out of order as well as skips quite a few of them. The chapters are usually pretty short, and as such, I recommend reading this series form the beginning because it really does skip and re-arrange quite a bit. However, it is a slice of life series, so you what you miss isn’t important to any plot, it is just more to enjoy.
If nothing else, start at Chapter 14 since the first thirteen chapters are all adapted and Chapter 14 was the first chapter they skipped.
Is The Hakumei and Mikochi Manga Over?
The Hakumei and Mikochi manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2013, the series has consistently released one volume per year.
Will There Be A Hakumei and Mikochi Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Hakumei and Mikochi Season 2.
As the anime came out in 2018, I’d say the chance of this series getting another season is pretty slim at this point.
