There was a time when the melodrama of yaoi anime appealed to me, but the same tropes get old after a bit, you know? That is part of what made Given such a refreshing treat, and I feel like any long time yaoi connoisseur can agree.
Picking up the Given manga after the anime isn’t actually that hard, but it will be disappointing when you find out that there isn’t too terribly much more of it to enjoy yet.
Where To Start The Given Manga After The Anime?
If you watched the Given anime (without the movie), you can start the manga at Chapter 16, though it does have a tidbit from a later chapter.
If you also watched the movie, then you can skip ahead to Chapter 29.
What to Expect From The Given Manga?
Be aware that while the movie does cover Chapter 16 through 28 as a direct continuation of the story, it does so loosely. You will miss a fair bit of substance. The anime itself was a fair detailed adaptation of the manga, so it is not necessary to read the manga from the beginning, but you may wish to read the chapters that the movie covers.
Is The Given Manga Over?
The Given manga is complete. It ended in 2023 with the Chapter 51.
Will There Be A Given Season 2?
It was announced that Given would continue past the movie with another two-part sequel movie. A January 27, 2024 release date was later confirmed for the first part as well as a title – Hiiragi Mix. It is extremely likely that the two-part movie will finish the series.
