Ghost Hunt was originally a light novel, but the Ghost Hunt anime is very much adapting the manga story which does change some details in the cases. The Ghost Hunt light novels are “similar, but different enough” that you may just want to read them from the beginning.

What to Expect From The Ghost Hunt Manga?

The Ghost Hunt anime adapts the manga story quite well. As such, there is no reason to read the manga from the beginning unless you want to.

The Ghost Hunt manga is complete. It ended in 2010 with Volume 11. The Forgotten Children, which is the starting arc after the anime, is the last arc.

Ghost Hunt also has a 23-Chapter sequel manga, called Ghost Hunt: The House in Which Nightmares Dwell that is also complete.

While the Ghost Hunt light novel is marked as concluded with Novel 8, it never technically ended, the author just stopped writing it.
