Where Does The Frankenstein Family Anime End In The Manhua?

If you want a fanbase to really love your anime adaptation. You never, ever end it with a cliffhanger unless you have a Season 2 announcement following right after. Unfortunately, Frankenstein Family had cliffhanger ending and season 2 seems unlikely given the state of its source material.

That ending really brought down an otherwise interesting series. Well, that and padding a 12-minute anime with another 12 minutes of voice actor fluff.

Where To Start The Frankenstein Family Manhua After The Anime?

As Frankenstein Family is a Chinese manhua, if it not translated, it almost impossible to find in raw form. As such I was limited by the 16 chapters I could find. That said, the Frankenstein Family anime has small differences throughout from its manhua source material, but seemed to greatly diverge into, what I can only guess, is an anime-only ending starting at Episode 9.

So, as of Episode 8, you would start the Frankenstein Family manhua at Chapter 10.

Please note that the events of the anime could very well happen past Chapter 16, but the manhua only has 21 chapters, so it is even more likely that episodes 9 through 12 are anime-original.

Is The Frankenstein Family Manga Over?

There are conflicting reports as to whether the Frankenstein Family manga is complete (i.e. discontinued/canceled) or just on hiatus. Regardless, there is 21 chapters and no new chapters have been released since 2019.

Will There Be A Frankenstein Family Season 2?

As the anime ended in 2018 and the manga “ended?” in 2019, it seems that, at this point, there will be no Frankenstein Family Season 2. However, donghua tends to play by its own, less predictable rules, so who knows.
