Where Does The Fist of the North Star Anime End In The Manga?

Fist of the North Star is a pillar series in anime and manga, inspiring so many creators, and so sloppily handled as an anime series that it makes it so, so hard to watch combined with its often “episodic until its not” plot.

Where To Start The Fist of the North Star Manga After The Anime?

Where to pick up the Fist of the North Star manga widely depends on which version of the anime you watched. At present, there are three versions:

• If you watched both seasons of the Toei 1984 Fist of the North Star anime, you would start the manga at Chapter 211.
• If you watched the 1986 Movie version of Fist of the North Star, then you would start the manga at Chapter 73.
• If you watched the 2006-2008 TMS Animation movies, then the last canon event from the manga would leave you at a Chapter 136 start point.

It is recommended to watch the 1984 anime as that is the closest, and most detail-dense version of the story. The newer movies, while nicer looking and pretty cool, included a lot of anime-original characters and content while the older movie is a highly condensed version of the story.

A good chunk of the newer movies are actually adapting the character side story manga series as well.

Where To Start The Fist of the Blue Sky Manga After The Anime?

Fist of the Blue Sky is a prequel series to Fist of the North Star following the uncle of Kenshiro, confusingly also named Kenshiro. It also received a complicated anime adaptation.

If you finished the 2006 Fist of the Blue Sky anime, you can start the manga at Chapter 89.

While there is a Fist of the Blue Sky Re:Genesis anime (with 2 seasons) and a corresponding Fist of the Blue Sky Re:Genesis manga, the anime is not adapting the manga very faithfully since the Re:Genesis manga launched in 2017, the Re:Genesis anime launched in 2018, and there is still presently on four volumes of the ongoing Re:Genesis manga.

Instead, the Re:Genesis anime mixed elements from the Re:Genesis manga and the unadapted later half of the original Fist of the Blue Sky manga that the 2006 version did not adapt. So, while worth watching, there is no place to pick up the manga after watching the Re:Genesis anime since it is just freestyling.

The Fist of the North Star manga is complete. It ended in 1988 at Chapter 245.

Will There Be More Fist of the North Star Anime?

It was announced in September 2023 on the 40^th anniversary of the Fist of the North Star manga that the series would be getting another anime. It has also been confirmed that it will be a reboot of the story.

However, no further details have been announced as to when it will air or what studio will be handling it.
