Oh man, I hate when they hide what appears to be a pretty good story behind whatever this style of donghua animation is called. Even worse when the manhua actually looks so good with its art style.

What to Expect From The First Order Manhua?
The anime adapts the manhua story roughly the same, but very roughly. It cuts out a lot of superfluous characters and moments that don’t contribute much to the main story as well as changes a lot of character designs to fit with the CGI. As the anime often does cut from big moment to big moment, it does make getting the more detail-oriented manhua a little more jarring. As the anime does appear to change a lot of small details, I’d say read it from the beginning, but the choice is yours. It did cover the same basic overall story.
