When cute adult anime girls and interesting re-imagined historical figures can’t carry the gacha anymore, there is always the power moe, right? Although, it is really the combination of all these things that have made the Fate/Stay into the gigantic beast that it is today. Regardless, considering the heaviness of some of the other material, it was nice to see a series start off cute – before getting heavy.
Where To Start The Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Manga After The Anime?
Each season of the Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya anime is its own manga series. As such:
Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya has an anime and is a complete adaptation of the manga series of the same name.
Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei has a two-season anime and is a complete adaptation of the manga series of the same name.
Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei has an anime and is the currently ongoing manga series in the overall story. The story has also continued in the two canon sequel movies that it has released.
If you finished the Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei anime, the Vow in the Snow first movie, and the Licht Nameless Girl second movie, you can start the 3rei manga at Chapter 53.4.
The second movie technically adapts a bit further than that, but the story is changed and you will need those details when going forward with the manga.
What to Expect From The Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Manga?
It would be my recommendation to, if not read the entire manga from the beginning, at least read the 2wei and 3rei manga.
The ending of the 2wei manga is much different compared to the anime and many events in 3rei are changed. You can manage watching the anime alone and going forward with the manga, but it definitely makes for a more cohesive story reading from the beginning.
Is The Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Manga Over?
The Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya original and Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei manga series are both complete. However, the Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei manga is still ongoing.
Unfortunately, the Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei manga releases so, so slowly, suffering frequent hiatuses since it began in 2012. It was on hiatus until late 2023 and has only recently restarted.
Will There Be A Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Season 4?
The 3rei manga is still ongoing and has committed to telling its story in movies for two arcs. It is unlikely that there will be another 3rei anime, but there may be a fourth manga series after the 3rei manga concludes.
As Fate/Stay is a large cash cow, it is likely that a new series, if one ever comes out, will receive what would be the fourth season of the Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya anime.
