While particular fervor for the Familiar of Zero has fallen off since the anime ended, if you got through all four seasons, there is still a bit more to explore. The Familiar of Zero is actually an adaptation of a rather girthy light novel, and at this point, reading it is much like experiencing the story you love for the first time.

Where Does The Familiar of Zero Anime End in The Light Novel?
The Familiar of Zero is one of the rare isekai light novels that has a full adaptation. It adapts 22 novels, not perfectly, but it got to the end. The one thing to keep in mind is that it leaves events out of the final novel and skips the epilogue. Although, that is pretty par for the course since it leaves events out throughout the adaptation.
While The Familiar of Zero is technically a full adaptation, you can’t exactly say it was a good adaptation. It leaves tons of arcs out as well as important things like, say, the character development for Louise, who is also only a fraction as tsun in the light novel. The first season was quite faithful to the light novel, and every season following became less and less diligent – culminating in Season 4 cramming 10 novels of story into 12 episodes.
It is highly recommended to read the light novels from the beginning if you did enjoy the series.
Is The Familiar of Zero Light Novel Over?
The Familiar of Zero light novel is complete. it ended in 2017 with Novel 22.
Interesting side note of lore, the original author of light novel, Noboru Yamaguchi, died of cancer in 2013, but his colleague Yū Shimizu, author of the Blade Dance of the Elementalers series, wrote the last two novels using his friends’ notes.
Where Does The Familiar of Zero Anime End in The Manga?
While The Familiar of Zero does have a manga series as well as a sequel to that manga series called The Familiar of Zero Chevalier, the manga story is one of those “similar, yet different” sort of affairs. The manga tells a similar story, but cuts events from the light novels and re-orders things. it also puts more emphasis on politics over the relationships. The manga series also have original endings.
